Bhoomika’s Story: From No Computer Skills to Graphic Designer
When Bhoomika joined MakersBox, she could barely do basic computer tasks. She only heard about it because her brother was already learning there.
“I thought I knew computers because I could type and use MS Paint. But when I joined, I realized there’s a whole world beyond that,” she says.
At MakersBox, she learned graphic design from Diwakar Sir and networking from Yogita Didi. Her biggest moment? Building an educational app with her teammates Harshit and Nisha.
The app helped students who couldn’t attend offline classes by providing notes, study materials, and recorded lectures.
“At first, we had no idea how to design an app. Even making small icons felt difficult. But we worked as a team and figured things out,” Bhoomika recalls.
And the best part? She also got an internship at just 18—working in networking and server configuration. No degree. Just real skills.
But that’s not all. She also gained confidence.
“I used to be so underconfident. I couldn’t even talk properly. MakersBox changed that,” she says.
Harshit’s Story: From NEET Aspirant to Frontend Developer
Harshit’s journey was completely different.
He was a NEET aspirant who wanted to become a doctor. But when things didn’t work out, he started looking for other options.
“I saw some seniors coding, and it looked fascinating. I wanted to try it too, so I asked a friend about it. He told me about MakersBox, and I joined,” he says.
He started from scratch, first learning MS Office, then coding, and eventually working on the same educational app with Bhoomika.
By 18, he landed an internship at Tadkarani Kitchen, doing video editing and frontend development.
“My internship involved video shooting and editing, but learning to build apps was the real game-changer. I never thought I’d be a frontend developer, but now, I’m sure that’s what I want to do,” Harshit says.
The App That Made a Difference
The app they built wasn’t just a random practice project.
It helped real students by providing them with study notes, materials, and recorded lectures when they couldn’t attend offline classes.
“At first, it felt impossible to design the UI. We didn’t know where to start,” Bhoomika says. “But we kept trying, worked as a team, and made it happen.”
Apart from technical skills, they also learned teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity—things you don’t always learn in school.
